چکیده

This paper studies how dependent types can be employed for a refined treatment of event types, offering a nice improvement to Davidson’s event semantics. We consider dependent event types indexed by thematic roles and illustrate how, in the presence of refined event types, subtyping plays an essential role in semantic interpretations. It is shown that dependent event types give a natural solution to the incompatibility problem (sometimes called the event quantification problem) in combining event semantics with the traditional Montague semantics.

Multivariate frailty models for two types of recurrent events with a dependent terminal event: application to breast cancer data.

Individuals may experience more than one type of recurrent event and a terminal event during the life course of a disease. Follow-up may be interrupted for several reasons, including the end of a study, or patients lost to follow-up, which are non informative censoring events. Death could also stop the follow-up, hence, it is considered as a dependent terminal event. We propose a multivariate f...

Real-time Prediction and Synchronization of Business Process Instances using Data and Control Perspective

Nowadays, in a competitive and dynamic environment of businesses, organizations need to moni-tor, analyze and improve business processes with the use of Business Process Management Systems(BPMSs). Management, prediction and time control of events in BPMS is one of the major chal-lenges of this area of research that has attracted lots of researchers. In this paper, we present a...

Bayesian analysis of multi-type recurrent events and dependent termination with nonparametric covariate functions.

Multi-type recurrent event data occur frequently in longitudinal studies. Dependent termination may occur when the terminal time is correlated to recurrent event times. In this article, we simultaneously model the multi-type recurrent events and a dependent terminal event, both with nonparametric covariate functions modeled by B-splines. We develop a Bayesian multivariate frailty model to accou...

تجربه گونه های مرگ در زندگی در مثنوی معنوی

Based on Mowlavi’s (Rumi) Mathnavi, death is not a sudden event that terminates man’s life. It is an event that continues throughout a lifetime. Based on Mowlavi’s Mathnavi, sleep, evolution, changes in "Continual Creation", and d...
